Description
Slide 6-12. Aridic Calciustoll. Calcisol. Location: Eastern New Mexico. Parent Material: Unconsolidated calcareous sediments. Horizons and Depths: A 0-30 cm (0-12"); Bk1 30-76 cm (12-30"); Bk2 76-102 cm (30-40"). This soil occupies gently to moderately sloping areas. The vegetation consists of short grasses, mainly grama (Bouteloua spp.), with a few yucca (Yucca elata) and mesquite (Prosopis juliflora).
