Slide 1-4. Mollic Eutroboralf. Gray Wooded Soil. Location: Northern Michigan Parent Material: Calcareous glacial drift over noncalcareous sand. Horizons and Depths: A 0-18 cm (0-7”); E 18-28 cm (7-11”); E/B 28-43 cm (11-17”); B/E 43-56 cm (18-22”); Bt 56-84 cm (22-33”); BC 84-96 cm (33-38”); 2C 96 cm+ (38”+). The navigation vegetation on this soil consisted of sugar maple (Acer saccharaum), beech (Fagus grandifolia), and elm (Ulmus Americana) with scattered hemlock (Tsuga Canadensis) and white pine (Pinus strobus). This soil is commonly used for small grains and hay crops.
