Be one of the first to see Dig It! The Secrets of Soil created by the Smithsonian's National Museum of Natural History. In addition to The Durham Museum staff, two leaders representing the Soil Science Society of America (SSSA) will be on hand. SSSA is the founding sponsor of the exhibition. Dozens of soil scientists were instrumental in developing the science – and the fun – of an exhibition about the fascinating world of soil. Meet these SSSA leaders:

  • Ellen G.M. Bergfeld, Chief Executive Officer, Soil Science Society of America, Madison, WI
The “Dig It!” exhibition at The Durham Museum includes interactive displays, hands-on models, videos, and 54 soil monoliths representing soils from each U.S. state, territory and the District of Columbia, and will be housed at the museum through Dec. 26, 2010.
